Ted smiles and leans in for a short kiss, then snuggles closer. He rests his forehead against her shoulder, closing his eyes and just resting, feeling so happy and safe and comfortable.

After about a minute.. "Shoot.." he whisperes softly, annoyed. He has to pee.

Joan holds him close and closes her eyes as well, drifting a little, so comfortable that her body begins to relax into sleep.

Then he whispers, and she opens her eyes, frowning faintly in concern.

"You okay?" she whispers.

Ted makes a soft grumbly noise and pushes himself up. "I gotta pee," he explains, before giving Joan's cheek a quick kiss and getting up to head to the bathroom.

Ah. It's so sweet that Ted is grumpy about having to leave the bed to pee. She reaches out to take and squeeze his hand before letting go. She snuggles down into the blankets and pillows, waiting for him to return.

Ted goes to pee, which is if nothing else not a particularly time-consuming process. He picks up his boxers from where there were abandoned, putting them on and washing his hands.

He brings the night shirt for Joan, but doesn't bother getting one for himself tonight. He also brings Joan's underwear, with a small smile. Once he gets back to the bed, he offers her the clothes.

She takes the clothes with a smile, and gets out of bed to put them on. She decides to visit the bathroom, too, just so that she wouldn't have to after they got comfy again.

She comes back to bed, climbs in, and snuggles up with Ted, resting her head on his shoulder.

Ted lifts his arm so she can have it loosely around her, smiling as she cuddles up to him. He kisses the top of her head, and softly runs his fingertips across the arm she's got draped across him. Even as they're both about to fall asleep, he just wants to do something to make her feel nice.
