There are few things that could stop Ted from coming back to Joan, and the one person who's been trying to do that is currently in jail. After this entire ordeal, Ted feels a little skittish about being alone, especially in public, even if he knows there's nothing to fear now.
Thankfully Beard is there in a flash, and Ted gets in the cab with him, heading towards the club.
